Introduction to this Blog

In two days time, an entire year will have passed since I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Gloucester hospital. The aim of this blog will be to help other people understand some of the experiences that teenagers with cancer might have to face and how they react to them. Roughly 5 teenagers every day are diagnosed with cancer and this statistic is only increasing, therefore this blog is also for young people who have been recently diagnosed and want to ask any questions to someone who has undergone the worst of his treatment.

Well done Will - this is a great idea. Looking forward to reading your story, and I'm sure it will help other people in similar situations. Keep up the good work, Clare

    1. Thanks Clare! I've been overwhelmed with all the support that I've had - this is my way of trying to give a little bit back by hopefully helping people who are in similar situations :)

  2. Hi Will,

I heard about your blog on the infamous 'Spotted' page on facebook and thought I'd pop over to show you some support. You're blog is a great idea and although you may be doing it to somewhat help you deal with such a devastating diagnosis it will also be a source of comfort and reassurance for others in a similar position. I admire you're bravery and selflesness and will be popping back now and then to see how you're getting on! Love and best wishes, Leanne xx

    1. Hi Leanne, thank you very much for taking the time to offer support, it's greatly appreciated and means an awful lot! I'm really hoping that this blog will reassure teenagers with cancer that there is always someone willing to answer any questions of theirs, from someone who has experienced what they are going through x

  4. Hi, I just found the link to your blog on the Ellen MacArthur fb page. It's really nice to see that you're so confident when writing about your story and hopefully I'll be able to write with that ease some day. I've been through the same sort of stuff as you and you've done a good job in terms of getting other teenage cancer people to read your blog...just the right tone :) x

    1. Hi Will, all my live I have enjoyed reasonably good health with very little illness, sometimes however when I feel sorry for myself I think of a small child in a wheelchair who would love to just get up and walk or run around and play or someone with an illness like yours and then it puts it in prospective and I think how lucky I've really been.
You have not let yourself down one tiny bit, you have put your thoughts and feeling well in conveying your message, my thoughts are with you and anyone with cancer.
